the commercial and residential capital of Helderberg Basin whilst maintaining its
village atmosphere with a friendly and bustling community.
Somerset West is situated about 50km from Cape Town, the drive from Cape Town International
Airport is 20 minutes, it takes 15 minutes to get to the historical town of Stellenbosch
and its wine route and a mere 35 minute drive from Franschoek. The renowned warm
water beaches of the Strand and Gordon’s Bay are also within a few minutes driving
distance.
The entire region is renowned for its scenic beauty, flora & fauna, wine and fruit,

There are three high schools and five primary schools. Stellenbosch University is

Climate of Somerset West
We have a typical Mediterranean climate, summers are warm and dry with temperatures
ranging between 23C – 33C. Winters are cooler with rain, temperatures range between
15C – 22C.
